Gubeikou Section
古北口长城
This section is located in Gubeikou Township, Miyun County, Beijing. Very dangerous in geological sense,it controls the important passage from Beijing to frontier plateaus. Its wall links up Mt Dragon and Mt Tiger into a powerful defense. The section was the wall of State of Yan in Warring States Period,and many well known battles fought here. In 1379,General Xu Da of Ming Dynasty rebuilt the section and named it Ying City,but only some remains of it are still there now. On the south slop of Gubeikou is a shrine for the well respected General Yang Ye of Song Dynasty.
古北口长城位于北京密云县古北口乡。在地理位置上非常险要，控制着北京通往前沿高原的重要通道。它的城墙把卧虎山长城、蟠龙山长城连成一个强大的防御。该长城是战国时燕国的长城,许多众所周知的战斗发生在这里。1379年,明徐达将军重建长城,将其命名为应城,但现在只剩下一些仍然存在。古北口的南坡是让人尊敬宋杨业将军的圣地。
