The Frog and the Wild Geese
青蛙和大雁
A little frog lived by a lake. There also lived two wild geese by the lake. They were good friends and played games together. It hadn’t rained for a long time. The frog and the wild geese could not find water any more. The two wild geese wanted to move to a place with water. The frog would not depart from them and decided to move together with them. The two wild geese worried, “We have wings and fly in the sky, but you jump on the ground. How can you catch up with us?” The frog thought a while and then had an idea. He looked for a stick and said, “I bite the stick and you take me to fly in the sky.” The two wild geese said it was a good idea and praised the frog to be the cleverest.
一只小青蛙住在湖边。那里也住着两只大雁。他们是好朋友，在一起玩游戏。好久没有下雨了。青蛙和大雁再也找不到水了。两只大雁想搬到一个有水的地方。青蛙不愿意离开他们，决定跟他们一道搬走。那两只大雁发了愁：“我们有翅膀，能在空中飞，但是你在陆地上蹦跳，怎么能够赶上我们呢?”青蛙想了一会儿，然后有了主意。他找了一根棍子说道:“我咬住棍子，你们把我带到天上。”那两只大雁说这是个好主意，赞扬青蛙聪明绝顶。
The two wild geese respectively bit two ends of the stick and the frog bit the middle of the stick. The wild geese took the frog and flew. They flew over a village. People saw them and cried out with surprise, “The wild geese were really clever. They took the frog to fly!” The frog heard the words and felt uneasy, “That is my idea. How could you say the wild geese are clever?” They flew over another village soon. People saw them and shouted together, “The wild geese are great! They thought out the way to take the frog to travel!” The frog felt even more uneasy, “That is my idea. Why did they say the wild geese are clever?” They flew over the third village. People shouted together, “The wild geese are really clever. What an idea they catch!" The frog became more and more angry. He could not help shouting, “It's my idea..." Before he finished his words, he fell down from the stick to the ground.
两只大雁分别咬住棍子的两端，青蛙咬住中间。大雁就带上了青蛙飞了。他们从一个村庄上空飞过。人们见到了他们，惊奇地大叫，“大雁真聪明。他们带着青蛙飞起来了！”青蛙听到了这些话，感觉不舒服：“那是我的主意。你们怎么能说大雁聪明？”很快他们就飞到另外一个村庄的上空了。人们看到他们，一起叫喊起来大雁真了不起！他们想出了办法带着青蛙旅行。”青蛙感到更加不痛快：“那是我的主意。他们为什么说大雁聪明？”他们飞过第三个村庄上空。人们齐声喊：“大雁真聪明。多妙的主意呀!”青蛙变得越来越气愤，忍不住喊了起来：“是我的主意 ……”话没来得及说完，它就从棍子上掉到地上了。
